Q. How old were you when you started playing the cello?

A. I started playing in the public schools at age ten, but was unable to have cello lessons until I was 16.
 

Q. What type of cello do you play?

A. I perform on the Ex "Duke of Edinburg" Tecchler cello which dates from 1703.
 

Q. What type of strings do you use?

A. Presently I am using Jargar Forte for A and D, and Thomastik Spirocore Tungsten for G and C.

Q. What type of music do you like to listen to?

A. Chant, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, Contemporary, some Pop, and lots of Jazz
 

Q. What are your former students doing now?

A. My students have gone on to important positions in the orchestral field, including cello positions in the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony, the Milwaukee Symphony, and the Vancouver Symphony. Other students have excelled in the chamber music field, including the cellists of the Chiara, Pacifica, Da Ponte, and Anderson String Quartets.  Many others are teaching in prominent universities and in public schools across the country.
